significance of 3:33 am?
What is the significance of 3:00 am?
I took a small vacation to Alton IL( named one of the most haunted towns in The U.S) to visit family. I decided to visit some of the known haunted sites to take pictures and to do a haunted tour at the mostly popular haunted house, Mcpike Mansion.

I took the tour and decided I was going to come back for the campout in the fall.
After that tour I quickly changed my mind.
You see, every night for months afterwards I will wake up at exactly 3:00 am or 3:33 am. Why? Yes I believe in ghosts. I still wake up almost every night in the 3:00 hour. It never happened until I went there. The people who went with me had the same problem after coming home.
Any answers? Folklore?

In the bible, Christ died at 3:00 pm, for some people 3:00 am is the time of the devil. 3:00 am is supposedly the time of day the spirits are stronger, for spirits (good or bad) to make its presence known (based on personal experience). Try researching more about “3:00″ if it really disturbs you, if not just let it pass. If it gets worst, get some help.

you may have accidentally brought a ghost back with you. the ghosting hour is 3:00 am not 12:00 am. the ghost’s prefer it when the dew is highest because water helps them in there transportation into our realm. you may not actually have a ghost but instead a spirit because ghosts can come anytime but spirits can only come in the time frame of 3:00- 6:00 am.
the spirit world is not as far away as you might think it is. it is up 3ft. there are two identical worlds. one is up 3ft and to the left, the other is up and to the right.
you may just be visited by a spirit. in any case they are harmless. if you don’t want to be woken up anymore just ask them to stop. if that fails. ask god to protect you with the white light.

3:33 is the devil’s number, and 3:00 is when the Lord died.
It is a fight between them to win you over, and you will just have to scream out and say NO MORE, because when you went to that town, something in it created a paranormal phrase in which your mind tricks your body to wake up.

i have had unseen entities come into my bedroom 2 nights in a row both at 3:33 i could hear and feel but not see them they or it held me down and paralized me for about 2-3 mins each night and this was in 2 seperatetowns one night at my grandmas and the next night at home

Temporary incapacitation that occurs before falling asleep or upon waking up is called “sleep paralysis.” The program in your brain that tells your body to turn off motor control while you sleep is designed to protect you; to keep you from acting out your dreams or other impulses. This is called alpha motor neuron inhibition. In sleep paralysis, a person will wake up fully alert, but also totally paralyzed. One exception is that you are often able to control your eye movement and breathing because those are also involuntary functions that would not be inhibited during sleep.
This is quite common and for most people it does not present a significant hindrance, although it can be very frightening. Many people describe a sensation of pressure that seems to push them down, but that could be attributed to fear and disorientation. The best and seemingly only way to overcome it is to relax, breathing slowly as if trying to go back to sleep. Giving into stress, fear and anxiety can extend the effects of the paralysis and delay your mobility.

Why did someone say 333 is the devils number?? 666 is the number of the antichrist but 333 I have never heard. I too wake up at 3:33 and the other night my husband did too. I didn’t find out until the next day he was even awake next to me, but it was weird. I just pray when I wake up at 3:33.

Ever since we saw my cancer forming in november of 2008 I have been waking up at 3:00 and 3:33 a.m. every once in a blue moon. When I received my full diagnosis in June 2009 almost every night since then I have been waking up at 3:33 a.m. the majority of the time and then 3:00 a.m. also on most nights. My boyfriend started to wake up at these same times as well after we started dating. Even when we are at our own homes we both wake up at these times. I don’t understand why either. Any ideas?

I was raised as an atheist and later became agnostic, so I was never exposed to the holy significance of any times or numbers, except through Hollywood films. Last summer (May 2009 into June), I began to have a troubling series of 3:33 a.m. wake-ups, three or four a week, and found myself in a sick dread of going to sleep, knowing what was coming yet having absolutely no understanding of it.
Worse yet, I’d always seem to wake up exactly at the beginning of the minute – I’d stare at the clock in the evil stillness, waiting for it to click over to 3:34; it would take the longest time. During the afternoons, I began to dread the clock as well. Sure, it could be any old time when I glanced over at whatever random interval, but I’d also always glance over at…3:33.
I began to write the wake-up times down on a little pad after a while, to try to find a pattern. A few days into that, the 3:33 wake-ups stopped; the date was May 20. As I’d learn in early June, that was the date two friends, with a third person I’d met – an acquaintance – were swept to their deaths by an avalanche in China. Shortly after that, another two friends and people I’d worked with perished, both in the mountains. Then my aunt passed away. Six deaths in about as many weeks.
The wake-ups and even the daytime 3:33s have since disappeared, but the message, in retrospect, was dead clear. Something was pushing through from the other side. I can still remember that feeling – that some dark, ambivalent energy hovered between me and the clock, studying me with unknowable intent.
Freaked out? I still am. If you get these wake-ups, try to listen. I don’t think it’s just coincidence or the subconscious or sleep cycles.

I just watched a movie called “Fourth Kind”. I dont let movies steer me into a way of thinking. Though there had been a recurring time when the paranormal activities happened 3:33 A.M. It made me remember about 3 years ago when I lived at my parents house, and I woke up everymorning at 3:33 AM. This went on for nearly two weeks. I was just suddenly awake. I almost always went back to sleep within a half hour or so but It was an eerie feeling waking up and looking at the clock being the same time for that long. Maybe someone or something was watching over me. I think ( and hope) it was a good force.

Last night( May 9th 2010) I woke up suddenly with a sense of “weird” so to say, at also the time of 3:33am. Now what makes this weirder is the fact the Tv was in that ” fuzzy” off the air mode,4 channels actually. I have always been sensitive to things around me since i was 7 or so, if not longer. I have never expierenced that though. All day today i’ve been left in awe over it, This house seems to be fine, however i have caught some weird things on camera, mostly orbs. knowing orbs arent really a true confirmation of a haunting etc, i didnt think to much of it… however things could be more active then I thought.

When my grandma passed back the week of Thanksgiving when I arrived home from her home I started waking up at 3:33 and it lasted about a week or two and now this past month I’ve been waking same time, I’m wondering if it because I broke up with my boyfriend and it’s his father?
I don’t want to tell them to go away because I know I have at least two guardians and if it is them why would I send them away? But I am just so exhausted!! And want to sleep…. I’ve taken PM’s and muscle relaxer normally 1 of these would last 8 hours but it doesn’t matter what time I go to sleep be 4 hours 3 hours I wake at 3:33 and this past week I’ve been waking at 1:40 fall back asleep I assume around 2:30 and wake again at 3:33 never to fall back asleep until 6..

My birthday is on the 30th. I have always had a connection to the number 3. I’m not a religious person, but I was raised in a very catholic upbringing. I have always shown my connection to my religious upbringing, or rather my appreciation for tradition, by making the sign of the cross whenever I pass any kind of accident, roadkill, ambulance, fire engine, cemetery, hospital, church, cross, saint, or any kind of religious building or any kind of situation where someone needs a prayer. The sign of the cross is, of course, The Trinity. I am Irish and love Trinity Knots, not knowing that was there name. I got pregnant when I was 30. Being the tree hugger I am, I wanted a more unconventional name for my daughter. Trinity topped the list, my ex vetoed that name. We decided upon Faith. Mind you, neither one of us is religious. It was picked before her birth based upon the definition “having an uncompromising belief in: loyalty.” Add to all of that, for well over a decade my access code to my voicemail was 3303. My daughter was born on March 3, 2003, or 3-3-03, 03-03-03, or 3-3-3. She was born at 9:33, 3 multiplied by itself is 9. My daughter has a special connection to the number 3 as well. She always sees the clock at 3:33 pm. The number 3 pops up all over for her, and always has for me. Given my 30 birthday and her 03 or 3 birthday, anyone could write that off as a coincedence, the kicker for me was my access code, 3303, her birthday, I know that I, affiliated with no specific faith, willed this child to me. So all those who say that 333 is the sign of the devil’s child or something negative, evil or spooky, I say you couldn’t be more misdirected. Numbers, like dreams, are subjective. What has a special meaning to one person, could be something completely different to another. I believe in ghosts and spirits, the movie The Entity pops into mind as a gruesome side of it all (based on a true story and very creepy), but overall I believe that nothing has power over you unless you let it. My daughter is a wonderful, sweet, caring, gentle, tender, wholesome, loving example of the wonder of 333. There is nothing spooky about my angel.

well i always wake up around 2-3 am and my bestfriend tells me thats when the bas spirts are up ? and then in the movie the forth kind this lady keep waking up at 3:33 AM and then 1 night her little girl was abducted by aliens at 3:33am and in the movie they always wake up and see a white snow owl and so i suggest we sleep with our currtens closed(:yeeah lastnight was when this happend and i woke my dad up and said im scared so we just ended up watching “DUDE WERES MY CAR” till 5 AM. well i hope 3:33 am is just a myth but i think so because at least in everyones life’s they wake up at that time some point in time but the feeling and sighting of that time is scary for some reason but i really sometimes dont feel presents in the house because i always pray to god then try and go back to sleep but i always wait till its 3:34 am before i go to sleep for saftey(:. keep god in your heart and you will be fine.

i have something even stranger for the past year and a half i have been getting voicemails on my phone and when i check the times it is always 3:33am. I have been getting these once or twice a week for a bout a year or two

I started research on this subject, and never found anything regarding 3:33 am & 3:33 pm. I to have experienced waking at this time for months at a time. Waking at this time unable to catch my breath. I have seen what I tough were shadows, or very dark areas visible in an almost pitch black room. Just like many of the post’s here I to have looked up so many times during this amount of time. I would ask my wife questions regarding this subject while it were happening. She thought is was just a quiescence. and perhaps I was just noticing it. Long story short, I have since been divorced not directly related to this, because I never brought this subject up to her. (Never was an on going subject) I am a realistic person and have never seen what would completely convince me of a ghost, although I have not seen anything which would convince me their isn’t either.
The reasoning behind this divorce is still today a mystery due to the fact that she still not explain the reason why. Their was a lot of negative energy in that home for many different reasons. The strangest thing was their was not any true reason for this negative energy.
I would like to research on this subject, and hear for others on the subject.

I have been waking up at 3:33am twice this week, and when I do I hear a noise that’s not creepy buy weird, it sounds like the radio is on with no music, like when it is in between static, and a channel. But nothing is on, I don’t know how to really explain it. I kept thinking it is in my head, but the sound doesn’t go away. I have been reading the bible nightly for almost a year now, and when this happens, I start freaking myself out, thinking the devil is trying to hurt me. My husband and I are both a little freaked out so I goggled what does it mean to wake up at 3:33am and now, I am a little freaked. I was wondering if anyone else has heard the sound I have, and what does it mean.

I have been waking up at 3:33 am for quite a while. I don’t remember when it started but at first it seemed as though I was awakened by a noise. I would look at the clock and see that it is 3:33 am. I would lay there wondering what had happened. On a few occasions I awoke remembering a loud noise. I would lay in bed listening and a few times heard sounds as though someone was walking in the next room. Of course, when I got up to investigate I would find nothing. As of late I just find myself waking up, looking at the digital clock on my night stand and its 3:33 am ! Im so used to it now that I just go back to sleep. It happens randomly, sometimes multiple times per week and other times once every couple of weeks. I used to be freeked out about it, but I have grown to except it. Lately 5:55 and 2:22 am & pm have been common also.

I woke up at 3:33am with a horrible feeling of dread. It has happened a lot since we moved in this house. It is very old, and everyone around here says its haunted. I never believed them, and still don’t know if I do. The thing is I been waking up like this about 2 times a month since we moved always about 3:??. So this morning I Google..ed “I woke up at 3:33am”. Just for the hell of it and sure enough ghost’s.
So I just want to ask. Do any of you have bad dreams just before you wake up?
I do, and they are not the same but some how relevant to each other. Wow I can’t believe how crazy I sound but that’s what happens.

When I was about nine years old I was awoken to a strange sound, it sounded exactly like an old record player on with no record in place, kind of like static. When I looked at the clock it was 3:33 am, I tried to get up but something pushed me down on my right shoulder which felt like a thumb doing the pushing. I was terrified and paralyzed, I fell asleep in the most uncomfortable position. This story is true and I was absolutely wide awake and not dreaming. I have never heard of anything like this since I have seen The forth kind.

i used to wake up 3.33 everynight for weeks, 3.33 on the dot, accompnied by being terrified so much that icant explain it to you on a concious level, the closest i could say would is it is what hell would be like, i never researched the 3.33 thing till i watched a film called the fourth kind a film based on a true story and she complained of waking at 3.33 so i typed it in on google and found 1000’s of people complaining of the same problem, what do you think is happening to us

When I knew my marraige was ending and I was growing up and becoming more of who I was meant to be, the numbers “333″ popped up everywhere. I woke up to that time, I stayed awake until that time, and other nights, which I woke up at the time, I was very much in touch with what I wanted, and what I would do to make my life happier. I was unhappy, you see, and I was praying to God to let me know if I should leave my husband after finding my current partner, Michael. I have 4 beautiful children and never dreamed I could move out of the family home in pusuit of my own true self, to follow my path to happiness. I see my children all the time, and we talk on the phone a lot. They are happy, and so is their Mother. Without the numbers “333″, I may not have had the strength to leave, and to follow what I was meant to do. I am so happy I found this website. I also want to share I woke up lat night at 3:33 AM and could not sleep and remembered I had downloaded “Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind” and HAD to see it. I watched it alone, and had felt I was supposed to see it for ME, as I learned a lot about who I am and what life is all about. I am haunted by “33″ everywhere I go.
At first it started with the clock– always waking up at 3:33 or in the 3am hour-I still wake up just about every night in the 3am hour. Sometimes I feel overwhelming dread and fear, other times I feel so used to it I just try to shut my eyes and go back to sleep as quickly as possible.
Shortly after the 3:33 at night, I started seeing :33 almost every time I looked at a clock. It would always be 11:33 or 6:33 or 4:33, etc.
For months now I’ve seen 33’s everywhere- on receipts, signs, building numbers, etc.
Holy crap! On a side note– I just looked up at the clock and guess what it says “7:33″ of course!!!!! That kind of freaks me out a bit– especially as I am sitting alone in the dim light right now by myself typing!
A few weeks ago I went to a charity event and my auction paddle number randomly assigned to me was 33. Everywhere I go, I can’t escape 33!! I really wish I could understand what it means!

I too have these same issues. I started meditating about 2 yrs ago and learned that I could communicate with the dead. I dont do it very often anymore but my accuracy is fairly good since I began. Since then, I started waking to the 3:33am. At first , I just thought it was a cooincidence and then, I started to realize this was a repeated issue .. and started to become very frightened. A few days ago, I was wrapping christmas gifts and a text msg went off on my cell phone to get my attn. i went over and it said 333am. I ignored it and went back to wrapping but a sense of dread certainly set in. Now for the last 2 nights, same thing has happened only i’ve been ignoring it as much as possible. This morning.. I woke suddenly at 332 am.. decided to close my eyes quick and go to sleep..within a minute, sure as ever..333am on the cell and there was NOTHING there ..no text message ..same with every time before. Its surely a message but doesn’t come without the sensation of fear. The issue is… am I creating the fear myself b/c of what i’ve read .. possibilities of negative energies,etc or … is it really something bad trying to overcome me since i’ve opened the door through my meditation..? I dont know.. please respond.. I need someone to talk to that understands this problem..

I work nights so naturally, I sleep days and stay up all night when I don’t work. I will be awake and about my business at night on my computer or doing some laundrey but suddenly a strong feeling of daydreaming will come over me and I will be either in a dreamworld (although completely awake) or sometimes, a very strong sexual feeling that is almost uncontrolable. If I overcome it and fight it, I get up. Many times, I notice while accidently glancing at the clock that it is 3:33 a.m. I don’t like this feeling, and I wish that it wouldn’t happen. I always thought that the number 3 was holy because Jesus supposedly died when he was 33 and the number 3 appears in the bibble many times along with 7 and 12. I don’t practice Catholicism anymore, although I want to go back to it. Whatever it is, I don’t like this feeling and I think that there is a bad spirit or I am being tested at 3:33. I am afriad, especially since that is the time people supposedly get posessed by demons. It is wierd and unexplainable, and the only thing that I can do is try to believe in a God that is full of love and grace.

the experience of 3:33 is more and more troubling to me ….it has intensified greatly over the last few weeks….if there is a parallel universe perhaps this is the physics of the “opening”….i think that there is going to be a large “opening”….and all i can personally think of is be completely aware of your surroundings….if one was to get really scientific about it do it. Something is going on…..and to be quite frank….truth and science can be as disturbing as religion…i’m a very spiritual athiest….what i am the most frightened about is the possibilities of portals opening up in our house…..there is trouble building and i have no explanation….but am very much comforted by reading your e-mails….i’ve been hitting 3:33 even in the afternoon….very intense….something is coming…..i honestly believe that something is coming and the spiritual world is preparing.
I am not a guru…maybe in my own sock elastic…but what i am feeling is the same as some of you ….completely surround yourself in white light….your home your community and the world…..shoot your white light to the moon and back.
Be good to everyone….be cautious and be helpful….and be hopeful…..completely move forward with hope and love….

the movie, The Fourth Kind, was said to be a True Story. It Is most certainly not, Nome, Alaska has absolutely NO record of Dr. Abagail Tyler, The main character in the film. It was basicly a scam. Same thing happened with the Coen Brothers movie, Fargo. It was said to be based on a true story. But it was not. This happens sometimes, it’s best to leave it be.
As for 3:33, I started waking up a couple times at that exact time- after seeing the movie “The Fourth Kind”. I decided that it was just some part of my mind that made me to believe that this was some “supernatural” or “evil” event. I decided I would search “3:33 meaning” for sh*ts and giggles. And I found this thread, and I Gotta say, This sh*t is f**king ridiculous.
It’s just so silly that some people are letting the tiniest things bother them. Get over it, Don’t let it consume you. Its just a coincidence. Just some state of mind, that is too complex to understand.
I mean, honestly. Some of you are talking about the devil and stuff. If there was A god, why would he create the devil, and evil, and give babies in africa aids, and give cancer to single moms, and allow there to be some much pain and sufferage in this world. And why would he allow church officials to be child molesters. I don’t believe in God, or the devil. I Did when i was younger… you know, when i still believed in Santa Claus.
We are all on our own in the world. It’s nice to believe in magic and fairytales, but these days, We need to pay attention to reality.
